Kate and Mark's Engagement Pictures Schooley's Mountain - Long Valley, NJ

7.27.2008

Kate and Mark's engagement session was at Schooley's Mountain Park in Long Valley, NJ. Together we hiked down to the exact spot where Mark proposed to Kate (great choice). This was my first time hiking with a couple while on a shoot but hey I'm up for anything. The trail which Mark's family voluntarily maintains was beautiful and a fairly easy hike. I know I will be back for a visit and if you are ever in the area it's a gorgeous and easy hike down to the waterfall.

Kate and Mark are getting married at Perona Farms in 2009 and I will have the joy of working with such a wonderful couple again.

Kate's Blog Post about me:

Picture Perfect
We've been getting a lot of wedding-planning advice so far. One of the things we heard over and over was, "make sure you click with your photographer! It will make all the difference!"Mark and I met with a photographer last night, clicked - and booked. Our wedding pictures will be taken by Nicole of Photography by Nicole Marie.Nicole was fun, down-to-Earth, and really receptive to hearing what we wanted. We met with her for a little more than a half hour, and it really seemed more like chatting with a friend than setting up a business deal. We had exchanged several emails beforehand to find out some of the knitty-gritty, so last night was really just a chance to see if the personalities all meshed together. One of the things we discussed via email was that if things turned out well in the meeting, we could take engagement photos right after. Since the proposal, Mark and I have been saying we really needed to go back to the spot it happened and take some pictures, so we set up Schooley's Mountain as our meeting point with Nicole.Luckily, the weather held out for us. Even more lucky for us - Nicole was a real trooper. The three of us hiked down to the waterfall spot to take some pictures and really, it seemed a whole lot farther than we remembered. We took pictures at "the spot" and a few other places around the park. Nicole was so much fun to work with, and Mark and I were both really comfortable around her. When we were all done, she said she had gotten some great shots - I can't wait to see them! I'm going to be stalking her blog for the next couple weeks until they're ready!
